BEWARE OF PRODUCT BONUSES
Today it is highly recommended that a bonus is offered to anyone who buys a product through
someone's affiliate link.
Basically, this bonus is a bribe. Unless you are working in the internet
marketing sphere, you may not know what the idea behind these extra products being given away is all
about. But for a newbie, that is, someone who has just decided to give internet marketing a try
and is finding their way, these extra product bonus offers are dangerous because they can form a large part of
the problem of information overload.
Information overload is when people get swamped with new information, ideas, technical know-how
and potential earnings. It is a paralysing state of mind that happens to most newbie marketers at some time or
other and causes inaction rather than galvanising someone into performing actions.
A Newbie marketer can be a person with a lot or a few, computer skills. A newbie with technical
skills has less to learn than a person with few technical skills. Sounds obvious but it is an important point
for any newbie marketer thinking of 'throwing their hat into the ring' and having a go at earning an income off
the internet. You will sooner or later, need to know how to do some basic technical activities on a
website.
It is certainly possible to earn money and not have any technical skills and there certainly are
some pretty good programmes out there that will allow you to build a website with only copy/paste, point and
click technical ability. But when you decide that you want to take your new business to the next level or to try
something a bit different, you will need to know the technical side. There simply is no escaping the fact that a
builder can't build a house without a hammer and you can't build an internet business and not know how to work
on a website.
Whether you have technical skills or are learning them, one of the first things most newbies do
is buy an internet marketing product that interests them. Sometimes these products are bought from someone's
list that they have subscribed to in the hope of learning how to become a successful internet marketer and join
the ranks of the internet millionaires flopping around on idyllic beaches somewhere in far-off exotic locations.
These products are made more enticing by offering a bonus or three if they buy the product by clicking the buy
now button on this page.
It is these "extras" that too often don't add value to the initial product ,or to even work with
the originally sought after product, that can become dangerous to newbies simply because of the distraction from
the original product they bought. Many of these extra products simply become new things they have to learn if
they are to use them, and the actually bought product they originally wanted by buying it, ends up gathering
dust on their hard drive because it remains unused.
Product bonuses offered as a bribe to buy a product through an affiliate link need to be
relevant to the product being bought and paid for and complement it. Anything else is simply another distraction
that is dangerous for newbies.
