Affiliates~ Be Aware of those Lists

When one first enters the internet marketing arena and starts finding out information about internet marketing, particularly if you are aren't sure of exactly how you may be able to best use the information you already know; but are looking for 'a way' to use existing skills and you aren't sure which way to start, everyone finds a bit of information here and there by signing up to lists of people who have had something of interest to you.

The thing is, that everyone seems to have 'something' that interests you because it is all related to internet marketing, and you know you need to know. All this may sound as clear as mud, but bear with me here because this is the beginning of what we have all had to go through and it has now been given the terminology of “information overload”.

This information overload stage continues until you have found precisely what it is you want to do on the internet. There are a myriad of ways to earn money on the internet and to be successful, you need to pick one way, and stay with it. Don't deviate, don't get side-tracked, stop trying everything that the people on whose lists you are still on, are trying to sell you.

Stay with your chosen way until you decide it is not profitable enough for you either because of too much competition, poor marketing skills or you simply don't like doing what you have chosen to do any more. Once you have had months and months of doing something, you can get tired of it or as more often happens, broke from doing it. Either way, its a pretty good sign to either throw in the towel, or change direction slightly and either go get a j-o-b if you are broke so you can continue, or earn the finance to expand on your chosen field and stay doing it on a part-time basis.

The thing that affiliates looking to earn an income off the internet need to be aware of, is that once you are on someone's email list, they earn their living by continually offering you new products or services. This is usually why they have an email list so they can sell to you again and again. This is good marketing and some do it better than others. The ones who do it really well can tempt you again and again with new products.

The thing from these efficient list owners is that all these new products are 'in-line' with your original interests, so of course they are going to appeal to you.

So if you are on someone's list and all you see from them are mentioning new products that are available, it's a sure sign to you that they have run their course and will now only be offering you different products that will be offering you alternative ways to earn a living so you will need to chose whether to stay on their list or unsubscribe.

Due to the fact that there are so many ways to earn a living off the internet, a suggestion is to sit down with some old-fashioned paper and pen, draw a line down the middle and mark on one side “What I Want” and on the other side “What I DON'T Want”. Sounds a bit like the clarity of mud again huh?

Don't forget, there are people in the world who pay hundred's of dollars for a “mud pack” because they believe it gives them a clearer skin. Once you have found what you want to do, get off those lists and get on with the actual work.
