AFFILIATE MARKETING REVIEW

Affiliate Marketing in Retrospect:

This affiliate guide is a generalised progression of the way I wish I had learnt, now I know what I do. I know, that’s as clear as mud.

Basically we are trying to document our progress by reviewing our affilaite marketing progress as an ongoing learning experience

Firstly, I wish I knew more about computer basics rather than just how to search, surf and email. A good understanding of how your equipment works, what it does, how to use keys together helps a lot. Even knowing where all the keys reside on a qwerty keyboard is helpful.

I wish I had taken the time to actually learn webmaster terms; especially the technical terminology. A really good guide is Google. Google is crammed to the terabyte with information that you need to know. It is the encyclopaedia of the internet. I strongly suggest that you become familiar with the terminology of Meta tags, descriptive tags, allintitle, html (yes, even with WYSIWYG programs it helps enormously to have a little bit of knowledge of html)

Keywords are the gemstones web sites live and die by, so their importance cannot be underestimated. There is so much to learn that I won’t confuse you any more than I probably have already.

Once you know the language, you will find the learning easier to understand. Read everything that you can and be patient with your learning period.

Give yourself time. You didn’t start school in 6th grade; you started in kindergarten. So this is where you have to start if any of it is to make sense. And it takes time. Read voraciously anything related to what you are interested in doing on the internet.

Many Gurus will tell you that you don’t need a website. And this is quite true BUT it depends on what you want to do on the internet. If you want to be a web publisher, which involves affiliate marketing, then you really do need to know how to make a website so you can tweak it as the need arises.

Every time you get a web master to do it for you, most of them charge you for their time. This is fair enough and it is also very limiting. It means that you simply don’t do those little tweaks that need to be done like changing a header or the colours on your webpage.

Website design no longer has to be a 4 year Uni course. They have now invented WYSIWYG editors and the best one of all for affiliate marketers is XSitePro. Why? Because it was designed for affiliate marketing by someone who understood affiliate marketing, Paul Smithson.

Yes, you have to learn how the programme works but they have done numerous video tutorials that I encourage you to download and learn from. At first it seems overwhelming but you need to do it one step at a time.

My mistake was buying the programme and not using it because I never gave myself the time to learn it. What a walking dunderhead I was!  Please, don’t you make that mistake as the not learning cost me a heck of a lot of money!

Then when I “bit the bullet” so to speak and actually followed the videos one step at a time, I couldn’t believe how easy it actually was to learn. What a stupid mistake that was on my part. This affiliate marketing review is here to help you not make some of the mistakes that I did.
